Google Search Console for a new site
Search Console is Google’s tool for the site owner. It shows how Google sees the pages. It does not sell rankings and it does not replace content.
Four numbers worth reading
The performance report has clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position. Average position is an average, not “we rank third”. A page can be fourth for one query and thirtieth for another.
The indexing report says which URLs Google included. Submitting a sitemap asks for a crawl. It does not force Google to index every line.
| Report | What it says | What it does not say |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | Queries, clicks, impressions | A promised position |
| Indexing | Which URLs were included | That every page must be included |
| Sitemaps | That the file was received | That every URL ranks |
| Page experience | Vitals issues when there is traffic | A design score |
The order of work after the domain is connected
Verify ownership of ez-site.com, submit sitemap.xml, and check a few days later whether the main pages were included. A new page does not have to appear the same day.
