Google Business Profile versus a website
The business profile is a card on Maps and in local results. The website is the pages, the explanation, and the enquiry. A business with no service area does not get magic from a map. A business with a shop or a service area needs both to tell the same story.
Two assets
On the profile you put the name, category, phone, hours, and the website address. If the name or phone differs from the site, Google sees two businesses. That is not a tactic. It is a contradiction.
A profile without a site can be enough for a simple "near me" search. It does not explain packages, hold an article, or give you ownership of the content. A site without a profile misses the map when there is a real location.
| Business profile | Website | |
|---|---|---|
| Shows up | Map and local result | Ordinary search |
| Long content | No | Yes |
| Phone and name | Must match the site | The source for the proposal |
| No street address | A service area, if eligible | The site is still needed |
